Join an experienced Alaskan trail guide for a walk through natural, unspoiled beauty in the coastal rain forest on a remote island in the Tongass National Forest. The trail takes you through a beautiful old growth forest, by way of a secluded beach, and is mostly boardwalk, about one-mile in length and well maintained. Follow your knowledgeable guide through this ancient forest and learn about botanic species native to this region, like Western red cedar and yellow cedar that early Natives were so dependent upon for spiritual enrichment, shelter and transportation, and how Sitka spruce was instrumental in the construction of Howard Hughes’ famous “Spruce Goose” and other early vintage fighter planes. After hiking this gently sloped historic trail, enjoy an Alaskan snack of smoked salmon, cheese and crackers, hot chocolate, coffee, juice and water. Then take some time to explore the natural beauty around you. A motorized rigid inflatable Seahawk provides a short, but exciting cruise along the coast of Clover Passage. Whales, Stellar sea lions, harbor seals, porpoise, bald eagles and migrating seabirds may be spotted on this route. Knudson Cove is the launch point for transportation from your hotel or pier. Bring your camera and binoculars!
NOTES: Dress comfortably with sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and warm, waterproof clothing is highly recommended. Restroom facilities are limited. Bring your camera and binoculars. Moderate to good physical condition is necessary for participation in this excursion. This trail has a gradual slope and is well maintained. Experience Alaska Tours, in collaboration with Taquan Air, would like to show you why Alaska is still called, "The Last Frontier". This amazing tour offers you a once in a lifetime experience that is sure to be the highlight of your Alaskan vacation. You'll feel the power of the DeHavilland Beaver as you lift off of the ocean with your pilot guide in the cockpit. State of the art headphones allow you to enjoy this fully narrated tour by air as you gently glide over Tongass Narrows and into the majestic mountain ranges that make this part of the earth so unique. Southeast Alaska is a vast wilderness landscape, with remote island logging camps, secluded mining towns, high altitude lakes, and native communities throughout. It is for this reason the float plane has become the most widely used and safest passenger transportation. It is the true workhorse of Alaska. Your 30 minute flight to George Inlet Lodge will bring you over the mountains to the far uninhabited side of Revillagigedo Island. You will crest breathtaking peaks where the keen viewer may see mountain goats resting on crisp snow or black bears foraging for fresh berries. Once the plane gently touches down on the waters of George Inlet Fjord, it will glide to a stop at the dock of the lodge, where your host will be awaiting. Have your cameras ready for an unobstructed photo opportunity of your float plane lifting off with the splendid Tongass National Forest as it's backdrop! James Michener wrote of George Inlet Lodge in his novel, Alaska. A converted cannery bunkhouse, it made a momentous 5 year journey by ocean barge from its original location near Hyder, Alaska. With not one pane of glass broken, it came to rest finally on the shores of this pristine inlet where is has served fishermen and travelers for decades. It is rich with history, artifacts and an inviting ambiance. For many, this is the pure definition of paradise. Your meal will begin with Alaskan Amber beer, white wine, and smoked salmon served by the fireplace. Dinner features fresh romaine salad, topped with mandarin oranges and tossed in homemade oriental dressing. Steaming hot Dungeness Crab paired with clarified butter and baby red potatoes follow as the main course. Savor this Alaskan delicacy that is prized for its sweet and tender meat but save room for dessert. Rich, smooth cheesecake, smothered in Alaskan blueberries will be a perfect ending to this world class meal!
You'll then have the opportunity to relax and take in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you. Chat by the fire, stroll the dock, or pick up some souvenirs in our quaint shop before enjoying a fully narrated drive back to historic downtown Ketchikan. This is truly an Alaskan experience not to be missed!

You will be led in groups of five to six kayaks to places such as the Mendenhall Wetlands where you may have the opportunity to view the Mendenhall Glacier from an ocean explorer’s point of view. Your guide will explain the significance of places such as Smugglers Cove, the history of the surrounding area, and help identify local flora and fauna. You may see porpoise, seals, sea lions, eagles, herons, or even whales.

Unlike many other Alaskan fishing destinations, the fish are a VERY short ride from the harbor, often less than 15 minutes away. More time with the lines in the water mean more of a chance to make that catch of a lifetime. The Captain provides all the gear, bait and know-how to make a Skagway Salmon Fishing Charter an experience one does not forget. The Captain believes that when anglers pay good money to go on a fishing charter, they want to "fish." Many an angler has been frustrated with charter captains who do all the fishing themselves and treat the customer like a child who has never held a rod of his own. The client decides how much or little he or she wants to participate in the fish catching process. You can bait your own hook, or even bring your own favorite gear. You can hook the fish and fight them to the boat. The Captain will give you the necessary hints and pointers to make your day a success. If you are not as savvy with the rod and reel, he will do as much as you want him to do to aid and assist you to make your Skagway salmon fishing charter an unforgettable experience. Skagway Salmon fishing charters primarily focus on the renowned Chinook or King Salmon. Salt-water fishing for kings is practiced by slow-tolling a herring rigged to turn in the current as though it were injured. Big kings find this motion irresistible and strike at these presentations with wild abandon. Kings will peel line from the reel as they run away with tremendous speed. Many a wily salmon will turn and make a run at the boat forcing the fisherman to reel furiously in order to keep the line taught. The Captain also offers a service for shipping your catch to be smoked and sent just about anywhere via mail, so bragging about catching a big Alaskan king can include a fine dinner for family and friends back home. Two summer runs of king salmon make Skagway king salmon fishing charters productive throughout the summer months. The Captain has experience in fishing the waters around Skagway and knows the subtleties of fishing its deep glacier carved fjords. Typically, Skagway king salmon fishing charters employ both trolling and mooching for Chinooks depending on the running depth of the fish. Full gear, tackle and bait are provided, as are the advice on handling the gear to ensure success. Skagway king salmon fishing charters offer an Alaskan fishing adventure at its best. |

Mammoth Waterfalls &
Ultra Zipline Adventure
$179 per person
Approximately 3¾ Hours

|
Fast, fun, and exhilarating, this approximately 3.75 hour adventure is sure to excite nature lovers and thrill seekers alike! Get a running start on solid ground and take flight into the treetops of the Alaskan rainforest!
It all starts at your cruise dock when you meet up with your guide. From there, enjoy an entertaining historic tour through downtown Skagway then along 9 miles of stunning coastline. When you arrive at our base in Dyea, you will transfer into our customized unimog—an all-wheel drive vehicle necessary for getting up our rugged mountain road. During your adventurous ride up the mountain, look out at the impressive rainforest and glacially fed waterfalls. Get psyched—you're about to fly over this wild landscape!
At the top of the mountain, you will suit up in gear that meets the highest standards of safety while your highly trained guide tells you what to expect and how to safely navigate the course. You will then be lead to the take off zone, where you'll clip in and fly away! You'll soar through a course of 11 ziplines, the longest measuring 750ft—that's longer than 2 football fields combined! But this is more than just any zip course. Our lines will bring you directly above glacially fed waterfalls, so close you will actually feel the mist as you zoom by! For the more cautious adventurers, rest assured that you can always control your own speed with a brake system. But we double dog dare you to let go and zoom up to 45 miles per hour!
Of course, that's a little too fast to take those perfect pictures of the Alaskan wilderness. That's why we decided that a hardcore unimog and an 11 line zip course over waterfalls just isn't quite enough. So we added 4 state of the art suspension bridges. From these bridges, you'll be able to capture stunning photos of you and your loved ones in the heart of Alaska's wild beauty.
After completing the course, pat yourself on the back, say goodbye to your guides, and enjoy your last ride in the unimog to your bus at the bottom of the mountain. Take advantage of the scenic drive back to Skagway to look over your pictures and joke about who was the bravest zipliner. This is bound to be an "E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N of a lifetime", one you will surely remember for years to come! |

Take flight for "the top of the world." Barrow is the northernmost point on the continent, 330 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and Alaska's largest Eskimo village. The rhythms of life are still dictated by the natural environment and animal behavior. Local residents enjoy sharing their stories and culture, and you’ll tour the Inupiat Heritage Center to experience local music, native dances, and the traditional blanket toss. Examine the tundra, search for bird species, see Arctic Ocean ice, and walk on a beautiful beach as far north as you may ever travel. Extra-brave guests can join the world’s most prestigious Polar Bear Club with a swim in the Arctic Ocean.
There will be a extra hotel night in Fairbanks either at the beginning (Pre ) or at the end ( Post ) of your Alaska Cruise/Tour Program. Weather in Alaska 's Arctic can and does affect flying conditions. W eather may require alteration of a portion or all of the scheduled tour itinerary.
This is an independent tour and will not include an escort. Meals are not included.

Seattle is anything but ordinary. It's a place where bike messengers share elevators with world-renowned researchers. Where fishermen have lunch alongside top surgeons. It's a city where the extraordinary is commonplace and commonplace is anything but. And if you look closely, you just might discover that in Seattle there are amazing things happening all around you.
From a jet engine to an espresso machine, Seattle's world-changing events have all had a distinct sound. But the symphony doesn't end there. Your visit to Seattle may bring you the sound of an orca blowing as it surfaces, the roar of the crowd at Safeco Field or the near silence of the Olympic rainforest. Come to Seattle and hear for yourself.
You can't go to Paris without stopping by the Eiffel Tower. And you can't visit Seattle without checking out the view from the world-famous Space Needle.
